volunteer | Participate in AIGA Los Angeles


Volunteering for AIGA Los Angeles is a great way to meet other designers, hone your professional skills and give back to your community. Plus, without our dedicated volunteers, we would not be able to carry out the incredible events and initiatives planned throughout the year. So we need you!

Please read through the following volunteer opportunities and choose the roles that most interest you. Your request will be submitted to the proper committee and a chairperson will contact you immediately to get you in the loop. Thank you again for your committment, we look forward to meeting you!

Events and Programming
Join our programming committee, which meets once a month to brainstorm ideas for our great programs and parties. You’ll also help to coordinate party details like logistics, entertainment, locations, catering, decorations and clean up.
BusinessMatters and Shop Talks
If you have ideas for either of our very popular business series or would like to assist the event chairs in coordinating the events, this is a great way to get involved.
Studio Tours
Our studio tours committee finds and contacts studios to host the tours, and coordinates various logistical aspects, including attending the events once a month.
Fellow Awards
Help guide our newest initiative, the annual Fellow Awards, which awards seasoned designers while helping to convey the importance of design to Los Angeles. You’ll help to coordinate several small events plus one large event in the spring.
Membership
Work closely with the membership committee to explain the benefits of membership to potential members, contact lapsed members, and brainstorm new ways to grow our organization.
Writing
If you’d like to contribute to the website, we have plenty of opportunities. We’re always looking for feature articles and interviews, plus people who can help generate and edit event copy.
Publicity
If you have experience working in publicity, including writing press releases and managing press contacts, we’d love to add your expertise to our growing PR committee.
Website
Our web team needs web-savvy folk to help us with programming, updating and designing elements for the website. We also need help from time to time with our email mailings.
Education
If you’re interested in working with one of our student groups or can provide mentorship for student events or initiatives, we’d love to put you in touch with our education chairs.
Portfolio Reviewer
Are you available to participate in our annual student portfolio review, usually in May? Your committment will only be one day of your time and it’s a great way to meet recent grads while giving back to your design community.
Outreach and Development
You’ll work closely with our development committee, brainstorming, establishing and maintaining relationships with potential partners in the business and cultural industries.
