<p>- Design social media website about methamphetamine prevention targeted towards adolescents. (Now) </p>

<p>SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE </p>

<p>In addition to a strong portfolio, the right designer must have the following experience: <br />
- Designing for social issue projects (non-profits, public service projects, etc.) <br />
- Experience designing in web 2.0 environments a plus (ex. profiles, forums, user contributed content) </p>

<p>Software proficiency: <br />
- High: Illustrator & Photoshop <br />
- Medium: Dreamweaver & Flash. </p>

Production / Trafficking Coordinator</p>

<p>Metro Los Angeles' Creative Department is seeking a Production/Trafficking Coordinator to assist our Production Manager with the trafficking and monitoring distribution of a wide range of Metro communications jobs on a project-by-project basis. Selected candidate will work on-site in Metro's downtown headquarters and have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a fast-paced, award-winning in-house communications department. Interested applicants must be available to work up to 40 hours per week for approximately 1 year or more. </p>

<p>Scope of Work<br />
The selected Production/Trafficking Coordinator will:<br />
Coordinate production schedules and track print, photography, signage, and interactive jobs<br />
Provide job status reports and conduct regular traffic meetings<br />
Regulate the flow of work between Project Managers / Account Executives and Creative staff<br />
Improve efficiency and effectiveness by ensuring job initiation completeness and information sharing<br />
Work closely with Creative staff and Marketing staff to prioritize deliverables and deadlines and resolve schedule conflicts<br />
Identify and/or recommend media extensions<br />
Maintain distribution database and records <br />
Ensure timely distribution and delivery of materials</p>

<p>Organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and attention to detail is required. Strong communications skills a must. Mac and PC experience preferred. Print, signage or interactive production or prior ad or design studio experience and project tracking experience highly desired. College graduate preferred. </p>

<p>Evaluation Criteria<br />
Qualifications/Skill Sets - 40%<br />
Work Experience - 40%<br />
Fee Proposal - 20%<br />
Select candidates will be invited to interview. </p>

<p>Compensation<br />
Compensation range: $20 to $25 per hour based on level of qualifications and experience. Metro will pay against submitted invoices every two weeks in accordance with purchase order language. Services will be provided as an independent contractor and do not include medical, dental, pension or other benefits. </p>

<p>Period of Performance<br />
Start ASAP through June 30, 2009 and ongoing at the discretion of Metro. </p>

Short term (2-3 mth)/high intensity (usually takes 4-6 months ) project for an "art of" book celebrating a feature film franchise and a forthcoming summer '09 tentpole release by a major Hollywood studio. Project begins immediately. MUST have extensive experience in book design, particularly art, photography, architecture...visually driven books of any type. MUST be available to make this project top priority during the design phase. All work will be conducted and managed locally in LA with approvals run through studios and London office by project manager. Pay commensurate with experience. Will be working with top notch film production team as well as extremely seasoned book publishing staff on the book side. Standards, expectations & pressure will be high; rewards will be too. Will include title credit; excellent resume builder project. If it goes well, future work likely to follow...we're looking to build an LA-based team long term. </p>

Founded 21 years ago by the University of Guadalajara, the Guadalajara International Book Fair is the largest Spanish publishing market in the world. Each year more than 17,000 book professionals, including publishers, literary agents, translators, librarians, reading advocates and distributors travel to Guadalajara for commercial and professional exchanges. With them half a million visitors from within Guadalajara and other Mexican cities come every year.</p>

<p>The 35,000 square meters of the exhibit hall contain more than 1,600 publishing houses from 40 countries. There are more than 90 activities per day; more than 300 book presentations take place during the Book Fair. In the cultural arena, the Book Fair has become an international reference, with a program offering a broad range of cultural expressions centered every year on the featured Guest of Honor.</p>

<p>The Book Fair has a $50 million dollar economic impact in the city and is visited every year by more than 100,000 young people. It hosts more than 1,600 journalists from 20 countries, being one of the more prominent cultural encounters on the continent.</p>
