The finance committee provide oversight for all financial related material for the chapter. It works closely with the administrative offices and with the various committees for any expense related items. It also ensures that each event has a budget and stays within that budget.
Secretary/Treasurer | | Jonathan Martin Errol Gerson is currently the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Harkham Industries Inc. The company is over 30 years old and is a premier manufacturer of Women’s apparel.
Prior to this, Mr. Gerson was the Chief Operating Officer of the National Lampoon Television Network responsible for the creation of all branded television shows for the Lampoon Network, as well as being responsible for running the day-to-day affairs of the Network and the Sales force.
Before coming to the National Lampoon, Errol Gerson was an Agent at Creative Artists Agency, the largest and most prestigious Talent agency in the world. Mr. Gerson was responsible for running the Agency’s large Consulting Business.
Mr. Gerson spent 18 years in Public Accounting first with a Big-8 firm and then at his own CPA Business Management firm prior to CAA. Gerson holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting from USC, an MBA from USC and an Executive. He has been teaching Business Management and Entrepreneurship at the Art Center College of Design for 35 years, representing105 continuous semesters and a contribution to the education of well over 5,000 students.
Finance | | Typecraft Inc. David Mayes served on the board with the Development Committee for the 2002-2004 term and moved to the Finance Committee for the 2004-2006 term. He has worked with Programming during the past five years and been involved with AIGA-Los Angeles since 1997. David Mayes’ career in the printing industry has spanned more than 22 years. He has worked in all phases of printing from pre-press to management to sales. He has a deep affection for the creative process with special appreciation for the collaboration between printer and designer. David is inspired by the process of taking ideas conceived in an artists’ imagination and delivering a tangible product with colors, textures and ideas brought to life. David began his tenure at Typecraft Wood & Jones in 1999. He came to the firm for the opportunity to work with a Smithsonian award-winning commercial printing company that has partnered with the design community, as well as with museum, university, and corporate clients. Tracing its origins back to 1907, Typecraft has a tradition of craftsmanship combined with innovation. The company has been particularly pro-active in adopting new printing technologies including computer-to plate, web-based soft-proofing and Staccato stochastic imaging.
